The yellow perch should be stocked in lakes and ponds where the water temperatures remain below 80 degrees year-round. Yellow perch feed on zooplankton, insects, snails, and other small fish. It is considered prey rather than a predator. Although it does not achieve a large enough size to be considered a prize gamefish, the yellow perch is most sought after for its excellent tablefare.
